Transfer Switch Communications
Transfer switches use the INCOM and Modbus protocol. Other options include dial-up modems and Ethernet. More...
AB EtherNet I/P Protocol
The Prolinx 4201-DFNT-MCM Gateway permits a Modbus slave to connect to an Allen-Bradley EtherNet I/P network. An application note was written showing how the Eaton Soft-Load Transfer Switch (utilizing the Encorp GPC controller) was modified to connect to the EtherNet I/P network. More...
Multiple Modbus Masters
The Modicon BM-85 can be used to connect more than one Modbus master to a Modbus network. An application note was written that explains how this is configured. More...
Numa-Logic
Westinghouse Numa-Logic programmable controllers (PLCs) could be supplied with co-processor modules. Two of the more popular modules were the NCMZ-799 (for PC 700 and PC 900) and NCMZ-1799 (for the PC1100, PC 1200, PC1250). More...
Modbus MINT (mMINT)
INCOM (INdustial COMmunications) protocol was invented by Westinghouse in the early 1980s to provide an easy to install, robust network for low and medium voltage electrical equipment. One mMINT gateway allows a Modbus master to poll an INCOM network and extract data. While the instruction leaflet supplied with the mMINT is detailed, an application note was written that provides additional documentation. More...
